RiggerROPEMONKEY
My technical and organizational expertise has been developed over a decade of performing arts experience, 17 years as a rock climber and a Doctoral degree. This has recently been formalised in the form of the Aerial Performance Rigger qualification, certifying me to legally rig/work at height, perform rescues and use lifting equipment.
I started my arts career as a performer - a multi-instrumentalist since childhood and later physical theatre including fire performance and clowning - affording a clear understanding of the various needs of performing collaborators. After being introduced to aerial performance techniques by the Gemini Twins, I found a natural aptitude for providing technical support and rigging solutions for such artists. I have since integrated my own mountain rope-craft and specialist safety skills with circus and theatre techniques to rig aerial equipment and audiovisual hardware in a wide range of venues, including dedicated trapeze studios and bespoke installations from Covent Garden to Scottish forests.
As a musician and composer (under the 'anonymi' moniker), my music has been commissioned internationally for performances and film soundtracks, as well as being heard in clubs and festivals. I have worked particularly with Canopy Trapeze (Georgia, USA) and tePOOKa (Scotland). My 'Monkeybotherer' album was released on Little Rascal Records in 2008, with several other tracks being released on digital EPs. I was a founder member of the legendary but currently dispersed Weird Attractors, while my solo works encompass dub/step, drum'nbass, classical, arabic, and romany. [myspace.com/anonymi23]
